About

The purpose of the guild shall be to promote and enhance quilters, quilting, and related fiber arts in the community.

We are the River Bend Quilt Guild of the South Bend/Mishawaka region of Indiana. We welcome quilters of all styles and skill levels. Whether you make one quilt a year, thirty, or have a closet full of UFOs, you’ll fit right in.

We regularly meet on the second Thursday of the month at Prince of Peace Church, 53105 N. Ironwood Rd, South Bend Indiana (at the corner of Cleveland and Ironwood, just north of the toll road). Our doors open at 6:30pm and the meeting begins at 7pm. Meetings tend to last until 8:30pm or 9pm.

All meetings include:

a business meeting with reports from our committees,
a drawing for members who remember their nametags,
any special activities we may have (fabric swaps, donations, etc.),
a program in which we learn some new quilting method or theory (color theory, easy tumbling blocks, etc.),
and Show & Tell of what we’ve been making and doing!

On the first Saturday of every month, we meet at the Virginia Tutt Library, 2223 Miami Street, South Bend, from 10am until 4pm or whenever we’re done (often around 1pm).

We hold an annual quilt show including a challenge quilt for our members. We do regular charity quilting through the guild itself, some of our members are also active in Project Linus, and in the local Sew Loved group.

Our membership dues are $24/year, or $2.00/month for the number of months left in the year if you join after January (all dues are due up front). We love to have guests, who can attend several monthly meetings without being required to join. Please check out our Facebook Group and Contact us if you have questions!
